Pottery Mark Query - "Italy 1431":- Hi, I have recently inherited some pottery after my mother passed away. Some of the items are clearly marked from Staffordshire potteries, but 1 or 2 of them are marked with a hand written "Italy" and then a number such as 1431 (this is a square lidded trinket box, decorated with a hand painted cockerel and other patterns).

The siphon was manufactured in Bohemia, Austria and distributed in the U.S. by Koscherak Siphon Bottle Works in Hoboken, N.J. (1887-present day under Koscherak Brothers Inc Ny,NY). Siphons began being used here in the late 1880's but became widely popular in the U.S. during the 1920's.

Koscherak Brothers Paperweights, PLUS This group of four Koscherak brothers paperweights includes a vintage Murano Koscherak Brothers paperweight millefiori candy cane, with beautiful patterning. Second is a Koscherak Brothers Murano paperweight with inlaid ribbons in the glass. Vintage KBNY Italy trinket dish / bowl with a floral pattern and two birds sitting on a branch. The bowl measures approximately 5 across. No cracks or major chips noted. However, there are so many edges to the flowers that I cant say 100% sure that there are not any minor chips along those edges.
